Be grateful that both the Liberals and Labor today started a  contest to cut our personal income taxes - with  Labor, by the way,  sitting on the biggest war chest.  But we're still deep in government debt, so where is the other side of the equation - spending cuts? My editorial from The Bolt Report.

 Obviously, Bolt has wax in his ears, a short memory or doesn't hear what Scott M has to say that "projected revenue is up". The economy has improved and will continue to do so. All he can say is "don't trust them" he means politicians.
 However, remember his team  Hockey and Abbott's budget they set the precedent of not allowing their numbers to be audited by Treasury. They chose their auditors themselves, confirmed their own estimates and declared them independently audited which when delivered were treated like lead zeppelins by the electorate. Apparently, Morrison's auditors aren't the same this time around if they are we don't seem to have heard.  
 Bolt's editorial is a summary of what we already know a plodding, unenlightening obit? Does he remind us of Abbott and Hockey were politicians who made promises and did quite the opposite in 2014 only to unwrap an early Xmas gift in 2015?  Does he remind us of Hockey standing up while in NZ telling everyone there was never a problem with the Australian economy and Abbott rushing to the microphones back home to say "we've fixed the problem economy" without a word of how? Bolt tells us how gross debt is $500 bill but again forgets to remind us it was Abbott and Hockey who raised the debt ceiling from $350mill.
So basically Bolt's saying don't trust them fails to remind us that it was Abbott and Hockey who started the game of "chicken little warnings" said they'd fixed them like Mandrake raised the debt ceiling and put their foot on the spending accelerator without really doing anything at all that improved the state of the nation. Wayne Swann was voted the world's best Treasurer because he did something and Joe Hockey the worst because  Tony Abbott put him in the crosshairs and did nothing, a pigeon pair of duds. Neither Morrison nor Shorten sound anything like those two but that's the foundation of Bolt's scepticism his side.

But much of South Africa is violent, though not a lawless, society. To declare that the 74 farm murders between 2016 and 2017, which Tony Abbott effortlessly ramps up to 400, were all political reeks more of propaganda than of evidence.
Dutton is more than dog whistling; he is quite overtly promoting his own version of White Australia, in which all but unquestioning preference is to be accorded to whites who want residence, and the rest can rot away in whichever gulags they can find – we will decide. ( Mungo M)

 A car decorated with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander flags was denied entry to this week's
 Anzac Day parade on Bribie Island.
A vintage yellow car has driven Aunty Susan Dean and other Aboriginal community members in the Anzac Day parade on Queensland's Bribie Island for the last two years.
 He said the SES member told him the vehicle wasn't registered for the event. But this was news to Mr McCarthy, who said he called up in the days prior to the parade to confirm its place.

Robert Hazelwood, Vice President of the Bribie Island RSL Sub Branch and Bribie Island's Anzac Day parade commander, told NITV News the issue wasn't that the car displayed large Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander flags.
“That particular vehicle was disruptive to last year’s parade,” he said.
“This is a very sacred event to us, it’s a day of remembrance for people who were killed in action."
Howeve,r Aunty Sue said they were well received last year.
"Nothing was said and everyone was cheering and waving at us and, you know, giving us the thumbs up and all."

Asked if he would be concerned if parade representatives were suggesting the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander flags were not allowed in the Anzac Day events, Mr Hazlewood said: "I suppose I would be."
But after parking the car, Aunty Sue said they were again stopped by an SES member when they tried to walk past the security gate leading to the ceremony.
"Myself and the kids were carrying hand-held flags - the Aboriginal, the Torres Strait Islander and the Australian flags we were carrying -  and this lady from the SES comes over, 'Excuse me, you cannot take that in there'."

"GOOD" DEBT? WHAT A CON

My editorial from The Bolt Report : the Turnbull Government says its Budget will distinguish between "good debt" and "bad debt". But is there any difference - and would you really trust a government to know it?

  So Bolt has  dragged the IPA's Dr Sin ( Sinclair} out to  disparage the Turnbull budget. The head of their right wing rag  the  Catallaxy Files  to explain Economics 101 to us because sure as hell Andrew Bolt can't. It's simple in business there is a very old Jewish saying "use other peoples money to make a profit". That is  good debt That is banking That is the Stock Exchange.
As a wholesaler you come to understand more often than not that you are in the credit business not the product business and Capitalism is the debt business. Your only as good as the credit you can provide. In order to do that you will have debt on your books and it's an  asset.  It's the debt you accrue the credit you get get from your suppliers and which you can pass on to your clients to generate a profit. As an asset  clearly it's a good debt and it generates  profit for the business. However because there is no certainty in business which Bolt acknowledges exists and demarks good from bad  you can't trust governments to know the difference. There is no con good debt does exist.

The Con:  Debt is a government no go zone should not be involved in debt good or bad only private interests have the right of profit.Government involvement in the national economy is minimal spending and the facilitation of private profit.

 Bolt promoted Abbott and Hockey as our saviors from the GFC at a time of growing debt they were the better money managers. Swan who was voted the world's best Treasurer was a waste of space. Remember the domestic cry from Bolt, News Corp and the opposition the sky was falling in and all those pre election promises of "no cuts" but better management Tony would fix it.. That was the great con that that Tony and Joe would fix it. When in government Hockey and Abbott sold the story was it was worse than they imagined the books had been cooked and it would take longer to fix. We'd heard that bullshit before  and it wasn't long before Abbott could no longer hold that line.The  domestic message the sky was falling in was being pushed by News Corp and 2GB. However they couldn't tell that to the world could they it would drive investors away. Hockey was telling NZ and other countries there wasn't an economic emergency at all that the economy was great. The con or jig was up and it showed in the polls. So finally Abbott said after the second budget we 'fixed' the debt problem and have turned it around the "emergency" is over. However we no longer believed him. He had raised the debt ceiling to $500bill, borrowed and spent for political gain and show rather than  the dough and national benefit. Abbott was Peter Foster and had banned his party from the ABC because they asked the real questions

The GFC may have started a debt run  but the LNP have tripled it since 2013 with little to show in return.  Abbott's NBN , Abbott's war, Abbott's national security and Abbott's ABF all were bad debts. Cuts to Education, Health, Pensions Housing and the ABC were put in place and not a good debt to show for it.  They certainly didn't produce any income only a cost. Abbott's detention centers and flags were all for show but not a necessity. They were the con and Abbott and Hockey spent like there was no tomorrow and kept saying they had fixed the budget and their debt was "good" not frivolous. The Con didn't improve with Turnbull but it wasn't accompanied with lies and deceit  delivered by Abbott and Hockey. That's the story Bolt fails to tell it's as if Abbott and Hockey never existed and it's all Turnbull's doing. The horse had bolted.

 

ABC DOES TERRORISM REPORT WITHOUT ONCE MENTIONING "ISLAM"

The ABC revels in a new euphemism for Islam. It's "fixated".  This allows it to file a long report on a new terrorism unit without once mentioning Islam negatively. Watch the astonishing evasion for yourself.

 Andrew Bolt does "terrorism" regularly even globally declaring every crime of public violence as one committed by Muslims when he's able. However he gets it totally wrong as many times as he's right. He's totally random in his selection of evidence all it has to do is seem possible. However the problem is he is a news source and has a platform  and when and if he gets it wrong you never hear from him again on that specific event. It's published distributed  put out to the public but never withdrawn or admitted it's wrong, fake news, vilification or religious bigotry. Andrew Bolt's  primary activity is not news and commentary but propaganda.

Bolt never apologized for his cock up report he did of the German bus carrying a football club being blown up but not by Muslim terrorists. Bolt didn't say sorry for the Cheurfi shooting of police in Paris that was officially declared non terrorist. As I said wrong or right Bolt  declared these acts were of Muslim Terror just to get his Islamophobic message delivered. It's never been retracted and never will be.

 You can't believe what Bolt says as his purpose is vilification and unless corrected are also lies. You can just imagine Bolt writing opinion pieces against the Jews in pre war Germany they'd be very much the same and getting worse as the war progressed. Once again thanks for the ABC

TWO MORE TERROR INCIDENTS IN BRITAIN

Having imported a culturally antagonistic minority, Britain now deals with the predictable consequences. As I said above Bolt's agenda isn't to report facts but to get his racist ethnocentric altra nationalist anti- immigration message across. He conflates crimes of  violence  and threats with "terror"  as if they have a single explanation. He only reports on those  committed by dark skinned non white non Christians or those that fit that possibility. His message they are intent on destroying us and we need to fight back and stop being so piss weak. 

None of the events Bolt conflates have any correlation, connection or relevance one to the other. Crime is far more prevalent in Australia committed by Australians and is generally white. So  Bolt  to be convincing will turn to the children of immigrant Australians to prove his point  and if that's not convincing enough he will turn  to those kids whose grandparents were immigrants. As long as they can be squeezed into thos categories of people he dislikes . Bolt's persistent anti- Muslim, anti- coloured  ethnocentric message is all Bolt wants to deliver and deliver it with unconnected evidence gleaned from anywhere in the world.  Because if he turned to the real facts, statistics and figures relating to what it is he is trying to say locally and nationally  he'd be shown to be wrong and the fool he is. Advertizers should take responsibility for who it is they are sponsoring.

Bolt was constantly telling us what a nice guy he really was it didn't happen.Turnbull was the great white hope but his  success was hampered by an adversarial political culture left behind by Abbott Mr Nope Nope Nope, one that fails to identify issues and problem solve first on behalf of all of us.. Simply following the wishes of their financial donors  won't cut it because they are no longer united.  Simply put Turnbull failed to wedge the ALP on Climate Change, Immigration, and Defense. However nothing is ever said about about Cannon Law that has protected pedophile priests for years. Priests heard each others confessions and molestation wasn't reported. They heard children's confessions and abuse wasn't reported they just found new possibilities in the confessional box Have we ever heard Andrew Bolt mock this practice? No he mocks and organizations poster and deems it a symbol of Islam. The man is not only ignorant he's a fool. When has he said cited the fact that there have been more  women Muslim politicians than Australia ever had. Has he mentioned that Tunisia legalized abortion in the 70s when young Australian women were still going to the likes of Bertram Wainer. No Bolt doesn't mention that Pakistan had a female PM. When you start looking into various differences in Islamic countries you begin to see just how primitive, ignorant, bigoted and nonintellectual our self defined public intellectual really is. What we have going on here isn't a commentary it isn't opinion it's yet another full blown  or flyblown campaign trying to have Caesar Abbott  called back as leader  and Niki is calling him a "fink". Does Bolt mention his standing in the polls not on your life because it's still shit. Yet Bolt appeals to the polls to prove the LNP are failing. It's almost as if Bolt's talking and boosting another party altogether, the Abbott Party the united party.

My question is quite simple is Andrew Bolt wiser than Ross Garnaut has he studied the subject closely and why despite the lack of encouragement has the renewable energy industry been growing like topsy with investment pouring in? I think Professor Garnaut might have more to say about the progressive approach to energy than the regressive one Bolt keeps offering. Will the continuation of fossil fuels  maintain Australia as a leading energy hub in the future given that clean coal energy will require rising costs and renewable energy is now falling below the costs of coal and dropping. Bolt seems to always have his dollar tinted glasses on but not the ones that spell a betterment for the country.The confirmation bias and seeing only what you want to see ...

Bolt logic Gold and gas companies mine  for a profit and do so when prices are UP. Does Bolt think they mine because they want to see prices drop  and make things cheaper for us all? If they export gas at a high price does he believe they will supply us locals at a low price? renewables are attractive simply because once established that's what they are in fact renewable and cheap. The production cost is falling not rising. Bolt even has the gall to declare the desalination plant a waste why because it hasn't been used for our safe water future yet. What doesn't he understand when it comes to "safety" first or the long term future if gas become too cheap mining it is over. Not so with renewable energy it will attract not detract high energy industry because it is cheap.

Submarines are to defend Australia, not create jobs

In the history if this country when have we really had to defend ourselves? Since WW2 did we go to Korea, Vietnam, Timor, Afghanistan, Iraq to defend ourselves? Who are our potential aggressors? Nth Korea, China, Indonesia, Asylum Seekers or just those created for political advantage. Communist hordes were going to sweep in from the north. Now it's religious fanatics because Muslims love war and we don't. 

I do  realise our diplomatic skills have fallen short of the mark  at the moment  but even so Bolt doesn't name or shame any potential aggressors. Nor does he mind enhancing the profits of the industrial military complex and improving their bottom line. His call for the best defense at the cheapest cost sound like a call to privatize our defense forces. Who should we throw our hard earned taxpayer billions at the US, UK, French, Israelis, Russians Japanese or the cheapest of the lot the Chinese? They could equip us at quarter the cost.

The formula of politicians when having no political agenda has been to create fear in order to increase National Security so they can tell the electorate that our safety is of prime concern. It's why Bolt is discrediting Abbott's policy. In order to build fear you can't  be populist and appear to be creating jobs. We can never create a defense force capable of securing this country it's too large. By the time we develop one that up to Bolt's standard it will be again be obsolete. The Industrial Military Complex is never satisfied it's the biggest industry in the world. Would Bolt wish to send his sons to feed it. He cries war escalate in Iraq bomb Iran. Would he volunteer his family go? Is he as Australian as the Flanagans were?( see his blog further down the page)

At some point the so-called cross currency swaps matured, and swelled the country's already bloated deficit. Instead of restructuring the financial system we bailed banks and not people out.

He generally scoffs at science critical thinking and evidence (rationalism, empiricism) over established ideology doctrine or faith . He is in fact the very opposite of huminist belief.

Conservative Conservatives have respect for the separation of the rule of law and justice. Again all we hear is Bolt's vigilante approach to rid us of unions,  justice and any notion of equality all in order to preserve or enhance the status quo. I guess if one regarded Hitler as a Conservative or Franco then they'd most likely approve of Bolt  a tool for their media.

Liberal He's not believe in government action to achieve equal opportunity and equality for all. It is the duty of the government to alleviate social ills and to protect civil liberties and individual and human rights. Believe the role of the government should be to guarantee that no one is in need 

Rational ; How could he be. He's totally anti-science, a non critical thinker a skeptic or cynical  based on or in accordance with reason or logic. His logic is simply based on his chosen political side.
